Marketing in the News: "Apple Vision Pro"

As a graphic designer, I've really gained a love for Apple products. Not only do they have a nice user interface, but the ease of being able to transfer design files from one Apple device to another was a huge reason why I've stayed loyal over the years. Having established a brand over many years for design innovation, Apple won over the hearts of many. You can't help but want to get the next new thing from them.

On a random day, I navigated to the Apple website to scroll through the products they had. As I got to the homepage, it was no surprise that they were advertising one of their newest products.

"The era of spatial computing is here."

Apple is releasing its newest product called the Apple Vision Pro which is now available for pre-order and is being released on Friday, February 2nd. The Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that will change how people work, connect, and enjoy entertainment. The article explains how their operating system and user interface work, along with the different experiences you can have, FaceTime functions, their breakthrough design, and matchless innovation.

Operation System and User Interface
The Apple Vision Pro features a brand-new three-dimensional user interface that is completely controlled by a user's eyes, hands, and voice. Because the operating system is controlled by the user, Apple claims it allows for seamless navigation. Users can use their fingers to tap to select, flick their wrist to scroll, or use a virtual keyboard or even dictation to type.

Unique Experiences
As a user of the Apple Vision Pro, you're able to use many different apps within a three-dimensional space which makes it feel as if there are no boundaries for your workspace. Along with work applications, users can also play games, and even immerse themselves into different environments with the twist of the digital crown.

FaceTime Functions
While using the Vision Pro, FaceTime makes the call appear life-size. Am I the only one thinking this is crazy? I feel like the movies are starting to come to life, and I can't believe we're here to witness it!

Design
Apple prides itself on its innovative designs. The Apple Vision Pro is designed as, "a modular system so users can personalize their fit." It looks sleek, modern, and has a nice futuristic clean look.

As far as I know, this seems to be one of the first products (other than the Oculus) that combines digital content with the physical world. This is something completely new and revolutionary that is about to be open to public use. They're currently one of the first to invent something of its kind which gives them an advantage from their competition because it sets them apart. Because it will be released, it will also allow them to get consumer feedback and start on updates, and their next version.

Apple has gained a lot of traction due to its loyal consumers. They will always have long lines waiting outside their stores to get the latest iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook, and every other product they release. Something that Apple has done over the years that gets people excited is their yearly events that they have live in person and live on YouTube to unveil their newest technology or products that they're going to release. During their live events, they educate their audience on their new products and technology and how they were led to use it to create their newest product.

I think that this was advertised quite well. As I continuously mention throughout, Apple has such a huge following that I don't think there was anything more that I would do to market their newest product.

It was very interesting to do this research because I feel like I was able to see a different perspective on releasing a product or service and just how much goes into a business. A business isn't just creating a product, it's knowing how to market it so that it can become successful.

Although I'm not a superfan of Apple, I still remain a loyal consumer. I most likely won't be buying the Apple Vision Pro due to the price being $3499, but there will always be people wanting to buy it because of who Apple is, and their why.

Hello there!

Hey there! My name is Breanna-Rae Tainatongo, but I usually go by Bre! I'm a Visual Communications major studying the Graphic Design track here at Linn-Benton Community College. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam and moved to Oregon in 2016! If you try to find Guam on an iPhone map, navigate to Australia, follow the horn all the way up, zoom in a couple of times... aaand there we are! A whopping 30 miles long and 11 miles wide island, right smack dab in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! As you can imagine... that's really tiny! There's an ongoing joke that you can't date anybody back home, because they're most likely your cousin! (that's how tiny it is) But, nonetheless, it's the place I call home, it's the place that will forever hold my heart, and it's the place that I hope to one day retire and be with my family again. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my dog Åhu, snowboarding, and mountain biking during the seasons, an...

Social Listening in Marketing: Duolingo

For this week's blog post, I'll be talking about the one and only... Duolingo! For those of you who may not know Duolingo, it's an American educational company that produces learning apps and offers courses on music, math, and over 40 languages! Duolingo claims that it's the "world's most popular way to learn other languages," and their mission statement is to develop the best education in the world and make it universally available.  I'm a current Duolingo user learning Brazilian Portuguese, and thought about trying to learn on a different application, but soon enough realized that Duolingo was the only app in the app store that had more languages than just French, Spanish, Italian, and German. In comparison to its other competitors, Duolingo offers over 40 languages while Rosetta Stone offers 25, and Babbel offers 14. If you were looking into learning languages, and saw that one had almost double of what another app had... I mean, the obvious choice ...
